About the role#
We are looking for a Finance Intern to join our team in Edmonton. This role offers hands-on experience with financial systems, customer account management, and data analysis. You will work directly with our Finance and Customer Success teams to support core operational processes and contribute to the accuracy of our financial reporting.
What you'll do#
- Contact customers via email and phone regarding renewals, outstanding invoices, and overdue payments.
- Build professional relationships with clients to encourage timely payments.
- Address billing disputes and escalate unresolved issues to leadership.
- Manage client communication regarding expired payment methods and failed card payments.
- Maintain and update the AR aging report and track promised payment dates.
- Reconcile customer accounts and document all interactions with detailed follow-up notes.
- Prepare collection status reports, DSO summaries, and organize at-risk client data.
- Process account closure requests and prepare lists for collection agencies.
- Support month-end close activities related to AR and deferred revenue.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Patience and tact when interacting with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
- A desire to learn, take initiative, and improve existing processes.
