About the role#
The Safety Co-op works with the Findorff safety team to promote a culture of safety across jobsites and offices. This role offers hands-on experience supporting safety initiatives on active construction projects while providing exposure to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles. This position is available for the Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Assist with jobsite inspections, safety observations, audits, and documentation.
- Attend toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and safety committee discussions.
- Support the investigation, documentation, and tracking of incidents and near misses.
- Help develop and distribute safety communications and training materials.
- Gain exposure to OSHA regulations and compliance activities.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Genuine interest in building a career in construction safety and risk management.
