About the role#
The Safety Co-op works with the Findorff safety team to promote a culture of safety across jobsites and offices. This role provides hands-on experience supporting safety initiatives on active construction projects while learning industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles. You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to projects across sectors including education, science and technology, multi-family, corporate, and healthcare.
What you'll do#
- Assist with jobsite inspections, safety observations, audits, and documentation to maintain a safe work environment.
- Attend toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and safety committee discussions to learn how safety is integrated into daily operations.
- Support the investigation, documentation, and tracking of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Help develop and distribute safety communications, training materials, and educational resources for project teams.
- Gain exposure to OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and industry compliance activities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with workers and project teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
- Genuine interest in building a career in construction safety and risk management.
