About the role#
The Preconstruction Co-op position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and offers students hands-on experience supporting the planning and estimating efforts that occur before construction begins. You will work alongside estimators and project managers to build technical and analytical skills while gaining exposure to the preconstruction process.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing exercises, and bid package preparation.
- Attend pre-bid conferences and support bid day activities, including communicating with prospective bidders and evaluating bid results.
- Help develop preliminary project schedules and compile project information to support scope development.
- Attend meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and internal project teams.
- Utilize estimating and bidding software to develop an understanding of budgeting and project strategy.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort with technology and strong computer skills.
