About the role#
The Preconstruction Co-op position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and involves working directly with the preconstruction team. This role provides hands-on experience in the planning and estimating phases of construction projects. You will work alongside estimators, project managers, and design partners to build technical and analytical skills while contributing to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing exercises, and bid package preparation.
- Attend pre-bid conferences and provide support during bid day activities.
- Help develop preliminary project schedules and compile project information.
- Attend meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Utilize estimating and bidding software to support budgeting and project planning.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Business Administration, or Environmental Engineering.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with technology and strong computer skills.
