About the role#
This is a paid internship for students currently pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting. You will assist in monitoring the financial health of bank members and counterparties while improving our internal data analytics and reporting systems.
What you'll do#
- Analyze the financial condition of members and housing associates by preparing credit opinions, call reports, and SEC filings.
- Review financial data for bank vendors, loan servicers, and custodians.
- Build financial analysis tools using Python and Databricks.
- Create data visualizations in Power BI.
- Support analytics for pledging securities collateral.
- Track equity prices and credit default swap spreads.
- Manage regulatory examination processing, including evaluation and follow-up tasks.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college.
- At least 12 hours of college-level accounting or finance coursework.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and conduct statistical and economic analysis.
- Experience with Excel development, Python, data mining, and reporting tools like Cognos or Power BI is preferred.
- One year of related work experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and bank call reports.
