About the role#
The Process Engineering Co-op supports manufacturing operations by focusing on process improvement, material flow, and visual management. This role provides a hands-on learning experience where you will interact directly with production personnel to discuss project specifications and product adjustments. You will gain exposure to how manufacturing, logistics, and lean management systems interact within the business.
What you'll do#
- Assist with shop floor improvements and support the implementation of manufacturing projects.
- Own specific improvement projects related to 5S, process improvement, and factory flow.
- Work with the manufacturing team to design and implement fixtures and other shop floor aids.
- Conduct time studies and assist in the management of time standards.
- Solve problems on the floor and in office processes using the PDCA cycle.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong ability to multi-task with assignments from operations management.
- A desire for hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic competency with manufacturing processes and the MS Office suite.
- Preferred experience or interest in lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Lebanon, Ohio.
- This role is a paid, full-time co-operative learning experience that alternates work semesters with school.
- Physical requirements include the ability to communicate orally and in writing, traverse the production facility, and occasionally lift up to 35 lbs. You will frequently work around moving vehicles and must wear safety glasses.
