About the role#
As a Robotics Data Operator Intern, you will collect high-fidelity human behavior and robot teleoperation data. This information helps train Vision-Language-Action models by capturing real-world interactions and precise robotic movements. You will work within the EAI Robotics team to support the development of systems that perceive and interact with the physical world.
What you'll do#
- Wear head-mounted recording devices to capture daily or industrial tasks from a first-person perspective.
- Operate robotic systems using VR interfaces to perform manipulation tasks.
- Collect multi-modal data including joint states, torques, and gripper status.
- Maintain strict technical standards such as 1080p resolution, 30FPS, and specific field-of-view requirements.
- Extract camera intrinsic parameters and ensure time-synchronization across sensors.
- Perform initial self-inspections to filter out clips with focus issues or excessive shaking.
- Format data correctly and manage uploads according to established protocols.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Extreme attention to detail to follow technical guidelines on framing, motion, and lighting.
- Comfort using smartphones, VR hardware like Meta Quest or HTC Vive, and digital accessories.
- Basic understanding of video recording parameters and calibration.
- Ability to perform tasks naturally while maintaining a specific pace for imitation learning.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and avoid capturing sensitive information or PII.
