About the role#
ENSCO is seeking an Information Security Intern to support day-to-day cybersecurity operations. This role assists with internal SOC activities as the company expands its in-house monitoring and response capabilities. You will also support compliance tasks, vulnerability management, security tickets, and IT Help Desk activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Tier 1 SOC alert monitoring, triage, documentation, and escalation.
- Support security incident and phishing investigations.
- Assist with vulnerability tracking and remediation follow-up.
- Work InfoSec help desk and security-related tickets.
- Provide support to the IT Help Desk, including basic troubleshooting, user support, and ticket resolution.
- Support CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and other compliance activities, including evidence collection and documentation.
- Help maintain security procedures, playbooks, reports, and operational documentation.
- Support general cybersecurity projects and day-to-day InfoSec operations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity with at least 2 full years of academic experience.
- Basic understanding of networking, Windows, cybersecurity, and incident response concepts.
- Strong analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to start by January 2027.
- Exposure to tools such as Splunk/SIEM, EDR, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, Tenable, or CMMC/NIST frameworks.
- Exposure to scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Compensation: $20 to $27 per hour.
- This position requires a 7-year pre-employment background check and may require access to U.S. federal facilities, necessitating a REAL ID-compliant form of identification.
