About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join the Pipeline and Power Generation Group to support engineering and consulting projects. You will work alongside licensed engineers and project managers to gain hands-on experience in the energy sector, including aviation fueling, oil and gas, and power generation. This is a full-time, paid summer internship designed to help you connect your academic background with practical industry applications.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering design and project execution under the supervision of senior technical staff.
- Assist with the development and review of technical specifications, equipment datasheets, design documents, and engineering calculations.
- Perform engineering research and support technical evaluations of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Assist with P&ID reviews, equipment layouts, piping system design, and process flow evaluations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary project meetings and design reviews.
- Assist with field investigations, site visits, and data collection efforts.
- Maintain project documentation and support quality assurance activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited school.
- Preferred graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Availability to start in May or June 2027.
- Coursework knowledge in Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Material Science, and Statics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and within a team.
- Interest in energy infrastructure, industrial facilities, or power generation.
- Ability to travel for client and company projects.
- Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, navigate client sites for walkdowns, and work outdoors.
