About the role#
The Corporate Actuarial internship at Empower is a 10-week summer program designed for students interested in financial services. You will join our team in Greenwood Village, Colorado, to work on real business initiatives alongside experienced actuaries. This is a full-time, on-site position running from June 2, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and strategic analysis.
- Contribute to model enhancements and internal reporting tools.
- Assist with data validation, assumption setting, and trend analysis.
- Participate in valuation, forecasting, and regulatory deliverables.
- Complete both an individual and a group project to present to business leaders.
- Learn the systems, tools, and workflows used across the company.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a minimum 3.25 GPA.
- At least two years of academic progress toward a bachelor’s degree.
- Expected graduation and availability for full-time employment by mid-2028.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
- Majors in Mathematics or Statistics are preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Proactive approach to learning and professional curiosity.
- Passage of one or more Society of Actuaries exams is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL, programming languages, finance, or actuarial fields is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2 - August 6).
- Compensation: $26.50 - $30.50 per hour, based on academic level and Society of Actuaries exam progress.
