About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in South Sioux City, Nebraska. You will work on-site within our machine shop to support daily operations and assist with technical projects. This role lasts for 10 to 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Cut materials using saws as directed by management.
- Sharpen drill bits and end mills.
- Clean machines and the shop floor daily, including removing metal shavings and cutting oils.
- Inspect parts against prints and document pass or fail results.
- Assist with tooling inventory by collecting and organizing tools.
- Operate manual lathes, mills, CNC machines, and surface grinders as needed.
- Help machinists with part setups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or technical degree program related to Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- General computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Clear communication skills and consistent, punctual attendance.
