About the role#
Empirical Foods is looking for an Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in South Sioux City, Nebraska. You will spend 10 to 12 weeks working alongside our staff to gain practical experience in food and beverage manufacturing. The role is paid, and housing is provided if needed.
What you'll do#
- Complete daily operational assignments and specific projects under the guidance of qualified staff.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand how our manufacturing processes function.
- Take part in improvement activities for products, equipment, and workflows, including research and problem-solving.
- Participate in Quality Assurance tasks to learn about daily testing and inspection procedures.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and company events throughout the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, specifically in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Basic or entry-level experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
