The Political team works to expand democracy protections at federal, state, and local levels. As an intern, you will support integrated political and electoral strategies across core issue areas including immigration, education, the environment, and health equity. You will contribute to the team's research, grant work, and outreach efforts while helping maintain connections with key partners.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research related to political, grant, and campaign initiatives.
- Draft memos, briefings, and research papers for internal leadership.
- Provide research, input, and guidance on strategic advocacy and political campaigns.
- Support the development of grant proposals for prospective grantees.
- Track and evaluate success metrics to refine outreach strategies.
- Use internal tools to support team operational efficiency.
- Attend partner meetings, briefings, and convenings, providing in-office meeting support.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, preferably pursuing a degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Health, Sociology, Communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrated awareness of current events, political developments, and media narratives, with comfort navigating traditional and social media.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
- High level of professionalism, judgment, and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration across programs and with external partners.
- Proactive work style with strong organizational skills.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15 – August 7, 2026).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid position ($25 per hour).
- Note: Mandatory paid virtual onboarding and orientation takes place June 10–12, 2026.
