The Innovation & Impact team works with leaders and organizations to drive policy change and improve outcomes for children in America. As an intern, you will support this mission by conducting portfolio evaluations, engaging with partners, and assisting with due diligence. You will contribute to programmatic work by drafting memos, researching policy and technology trends, and participating in coalitions that influence state-level policy environments.
What you'll do#
- Identify and analyze potential areas for new programmatic engagement and provide well-researched grant recommendations.
- Conduct due diligence for potential grantee partners to ensure alignment with quarterly goals.
- Coordinate meetings and events with policymakers, stakeholders, and partners within the team's portfolio.
- Participate in learning activities, including evaluations, reflection sessions, and assessments to support impact analysis.
What you'll need#
- Rising undergraduate senior status, with a background or interest in technology policy, state and local governance, and social movements.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Experience with policy research, stakeholder mapping, or program evaluation through coursework, internships, or campus projects.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively in evolving work environments.
- Preferred majors include Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Public Health, or Communications.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15 – August 7, 2026).
- Compensation: Paid internship at $25 per hour, including paid virtual onboarding and orientation from June 10–12, 2026.
- Additional support: Includes lunch and commuter allowances, with potential travel and housing allowances as needed.
