As a Social Innovation intern on the Philanthropy team, you will contribute to special projects across a range of issues and emerging areas of interest. You will conduct research, draft materials, and participate in meetings that help advance the goal of providing effective support to high-impact nonprofits.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research across a variety of topics using online resources, reports, webinars, and learning sessions.
- Prepare memos and written materials to support various initiatives.
- Participate in meetings to advance the understanding of critical issues and the work of nonprofit partners.
- Support analyses and insights work, including the collection and review of data.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior. Preferred majors include public policy, economics, sociology, political science, business, or related fields focused on social challenges.
- A demonstrated commitment to social impact and curiosity about the role of philanthropy in solving complex problems.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarize ideas for different audiences.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to work in environments with evolving priorities.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15 through August 7, 2026).
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Onboarding: Mandatory paid virtual orientation from June 10–12, 2026.
- Compensation: $25 per hour, plus lunch and commuter allowances (with potential travel and housing allowances as needed).
