The Office of the President serves as a central hub for efforts to inspire change in education, immigration, and climate. As an intern, you will support executive leadership by conducting research, drafting briefing materials, and managing special projects that inform organizational priorities. This role offers exposure to cross-disciplinary work across politics, the arts, and social impact, helping to sharpen your analytical, writing, and strategic thinking skills.
What you'll do#
- Conduct in-depth research for executive meetings and engagements, including policy and historical research, data analysis, and biography compilation.
- Draft and edit background briefings, communications materials, and other written deliverables.
- Explore emerging topics and opportunities that align with organizational goals.
- Verify and fact-check content generated by internal and external partners.
What you'll need#
- Rising undergraduate junior or senior status.
- Demonstrated interest in the mission and issue areas of Emerson Collective.
- Extensive research experience with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with AI tools and prompt building, with an enthusiasm for exploring emerging technologies.
- Ability to work independently as a resourceful problem-solver.
- High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Relevant academic background in fields such as Political Science, International Relations, Public Health, Communications, or Economics.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15 – August 7, 2026).
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid position ($25 per hour).
- Onboarding: Mandatory virtual onboarding and orientation from June 10–12, 2026.
