As a Graphic Design intern with the XQ Institute, you will work directly with the Product and Creative team to support visual storytelling and brand experiences. This role provides hands-on experience in design systems, campaign development, and creative production, contributing to initiatives that aim to transform the high school experience for students and educators nationwide.
What you'll do#
- Support the production of campaign assets, digital toolkits, and brand visuals.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of the brand and design system to ensure consistency across print, web, and social media channels.
- Create layouts, infographics, and visual storytelling assets for events, reports, and campaigns.
- Assist with concepting and developing creative directions for new initiatives, ranging from initial moodboards to final deliverables.
- Prepare production-ready assets and templates for internal and external partners.
- Collaborate with writers, producers, and designers to bring ideas to life across multiple platforms.
- Support the creation of short-form video or animated content for product launches and social media.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising undergraduate junior, senior, or recent 2026 graduate, preferably in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating an understanding of typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- An interest in branding, design systems, and creative storytelling for social impact.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative spirit with a willingness to learn and accept creative feedback.
- Experience or interest in motion design, video editing, or animation is a plus.

- Location: Oakland, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15 – August 7, 2026).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid position.
