About the role#
As a Manufacturing Scientist/Technical Services Intern, you will join the Animal Health Manufacturing Lab team at our Fort Dodge, Iowa plant. This summer internship focuses on project work that has a site-wide impact. You will work on delivering practical solutions to reduce analytical variability, manage technical manufacturing projects, or implement new laboratory methods. You will also gain exposure to various career paths and work alongside subject matter experts.
What you'll do#
- Learn the Animal Health Manufacturing process and document your work using GMP guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements for processes or Quality Control labs.
- Gain knowledge in areas such as fermentation, quality control, product recovery, product finishing, or companion animal packaging.
- Study design improvement processes.
- Deliver a practical solution to reduce analytical variability or implement new lab methods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering major, such as Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Microsoft Suites.
- A willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
- The internship term is Summer 2027, specifically from May 17th to August 6th.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
- The role requires 10% travel to our corporate facility in Indianapolis, Indiana for the program opening and closing.
- We provide financial support and assistance with securing housing.
