About the role#
This is a 12-week summer internship for the Electrical Solutions & Prefabrication Team. You will gain experience in the electrical construction industry while working alongside professionals. The program includes specific intern events such as jobsite ride-alongs, mentorship opportunities, and workshops. This is a full-time, paid position at $23.00 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Learn electrical drafting, modeling methods, and design construction methodologies.
- Assist designers and engineers with tasks such as circuiting, lighting, and power system designs.
- Collaborate with project teams to plan and set up design/build construction projects.
- Prepare electrical construction and change documents using Revit or AutoCAD MEP.
- Shadow senior staff to observe project management from start to finish.
- Attend job site meetings and assist with project estimating.
- Review project shop drawings and participate in construction document reviews.
- Follow safety policies and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Participate in company internship activities and perform assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two or four-year degree program in Electrical Construction Design & Management, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn and use Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and lighting calculation software like Visual, Dialux, Elum Tools, or AGI32.
- Familiarity with building, electrical, and energy codes.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- A professional, courteous, and motivated approach to learning new concepts.
Location & details#
- The role is based at our headquarters in Champlin, Minnesota.
- This position follows a hybrid work model, with time spent in the office and at job sites as required.
- The internship is scheduled for Summer 2027.
