    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience in the Smelter Department at East Penn Manufacturing. You will work alongside engineers, supervisors, and production personnel to analyze existing processes and contribute to projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.

    What you'll do#

    • Document manufacturing and smelting processes to support operational excellence.
    • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
    • Create process maps and visual aids for training and standardization.
    • Collect and analyze production data to find process improvement opportunities.
    • Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement improvements and measure results.
    • Prepare and present project findings, recommendations, and progress updates.

    What you'll need#

    • Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related Science field with at least Sophomore standing.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
    • Comfort working in a manufacturing and production environment.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Willingness to work on the production floor and follow all safety procedures.
    • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, a hard hat, and a respirator.
    • Self-motivated with a strong interest in process improvement and problem solving.

    • Location: Lyon Station, Pennsylvania.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
