About the role#
This internship offers a look into commodities trading, covering areas from oil market making to fundamental gas and power strategies. You will join the DV Commodities team for the Summer 2027 term. We expect you to rotate across at least two different desks to discover which trading style matches your skills. You will receive mentorship from both senior and junior traders and have regular exposure to company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Work with trading teams to learn various strategies.
- Build and maintain applications that support daily trading operations.
- Create new analytics dashboards.
- Test new ideas and present your findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date by Summer 2028.
- Proficiency with Python and Excel.
- A strong interest in trading and model development.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Strong communication skills and a preference for team environments.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in New York, New York.
- You must be able to work on-site at our office 5 days a week.
- Compensation is $45.00 per hour.
