About the role#
DV Trading is hiring a Software Developer Intern for the Summer 2027 program. You will join our equities desk to gain hands-on experience by working on our trading platform. You will work directly with senior traders, quantitative researchers, and software developers to understand how technology functions within the firm. This position is based in New York and is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Focus on low-latency system components using C++ or data and backtesting tools using Python.
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of low-latency trading components.
- Build tools and scripts for data analysis, backtesting, and strategy research.
- Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions to share ideas and learn industry practices.
- Take on additional responsibilities based on your specific skills and interests.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Your expected graduation date is 2027 or 2028.
- You have strong proficiency in either C++ or Python, with some exposure to the other language.
- You have a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- You are familiar with Linux/Unix environments and basic networking concepts.
- You are detail-oriented, have a strong work ethic, and are interested in algorithmic trading.
- Prior project or internship experience in low-latency systems or large-scale data processing is helpful but not required.
