About the role#
This is an eight-month co-op position based in Bismarck, North Dakota. You will serve as a primary contact for end-user computing services, working directly with analysts and customers to resolve technical issues. You will be treated as a full-time employee and gain hands-on experience in a professional IT environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for end-user platforms, including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
- Manage desktop images, standardization, and security software.
- Repair PCs and peripheral equipment.
- Handle escalated support requests that require more than first-tier help desk assistance.
- Collaborate with network, datacenter, and application teams to restore services.
- Document, track, and monitor technical issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Recreate user problems to identify root causes and recommend system modifications.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing in a Bachelor’s program for MIS or Computer Science.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Ability to commit to the full 8-month term.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows software and hardware.
- Knowledge of Windows XP and newer versions, Windows Server 2008 and newer, and the Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work independently, manage a heavy technical workload, and meet project milestones.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfort working under pressure.
