About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in public accounting. You will work alongside professionals, including principals and managers, to learn preparation procedures and software. Your daily tasks will mirror those of a first-year associate, offering a clear view of a career in this field.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with tax principals, managers, and associates on various tax returns.
- Prepare corporate and individual tax returns, including partnerships, C-Corps, and S-Corps.
- Gain exposure to tax returns across industries like manufacturing, construction, non-profit, retail, and auto dealerships.
- Complete introductory audit training covering documentation, professional standards, and fundamental procedures.
- Participate in at least one audit engagement and assist with basic assurance services.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting.
- Completion of Intermediate Accounting I by Spring 2028.
- Completion of Business Taxation by Spring 2028 is preferred.
- A cumulative and major GPA of at least 3.0.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Strong motivation to pursue a career in public accounting.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Prior work experience is preferred.
