The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is seeking an intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Juneau, Wisconsin. The role is open to students entering their senior year of college, with a preference for majors in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, or Business Administration. The application deadline is August 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
What you'll do#
Interns assist with various operational and administrative tasks within the Sheriff's Office. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and creating professional documentation.
- Assisting in investigations, supporting evidence custodians, and contributing to report writing.
- Monitoring weather and environmental conditions.
- Supporting training initiatives, traffic control efforts, and foot patrols.
- Assisting with community law enforcement education, public relations materials, and tobacco sales compliance.
- Reviewing traffic and crime data and supporting follow-up efforts.
- Performing vehicle maintenance and shuttling, as well as general office tasks.
- Observing court testimony and deploying equipment in the community.
What you'll need#
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain reliable attendance.
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks such as walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
Location & details#
- Location: Juneau, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with some evenings and weekends required.
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
