About the role#
The Culinary Internship at Silo Ridge Field Club offers hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment. Interns work directly with the culinary team to prepare meals for members and guests, ensuring all dishes meet specific quality standards. This role requires a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and consistent food preparation.
What you'll do#
- Follow standard recipes to ensure all dishes are uniform and made to specifications.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and making sauces.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by sweeping, cleaning counters, and disposing of garbage.
- Monitor expiration dates on perishable items and inspect all ingredients before use.
- Stock and restock kitchen stations with raw materials throughout the day.
- Work rotating shifts across all kitchen stations and outlets.
- Report any equipment maintenance or safety concerns to the Culinary Director or Executive Chef.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Culinary or Hospitality program.
- At least six months of experience in the back of the house of a foodservice outlet.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Current ServSafe certification.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and move for shifts longer than eight hours and lift items weighing over 50 pounds.
