About the role#
Dexter is hiring a Quality Intern for Summer 2027 to work at our headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana. You will work alongside our Quality Team to support initiatives, analyze data, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. This is a hands-on role where you will apply classroom knowledge to real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Define, scope, and develop documented project plans.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Toyota Production System methodologies.
- Perform daily and weekly quality data checks.
- Collect and enter data from manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Analyze, chart, and report quality data.
- Identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.
- Support problem-solving and troubleshooting activities.
- Create documents, drawings, and training materials.
- Collaborate with team members to reach project objectives.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Active enrollment at an accredited college or university in Engineering, Quality Management, Business, or a related field.
- Enthusiasm for quality, manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety, professionalism, and accountability.
- Ability to handle confidential information and manage changing priorities.
- Knowledge of quality systems, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma is preferred.
