About the role#
Destination Geneva National offers a five-to-six-month internship for the 2027 season. You will work on 54 holes of golf designed by Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino. This role involves overseeing bent grass tees, fairways, greens, and practice areas. You will work alongside experienced superintendents who provide mentorship throughout the season.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily course maintenance and setup.
- Execute turfgrass cultural programs.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers.
- Calibrate spreaders and sprayers.
- Operate and repair irrigation systems.
- Manage natural and native areas.
- Assist with and lead various golf course projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Certificate or 2- or 4-year degree program in Turfgrass, Agronomy, Agriscience, or Horticulture.
- Alternatively, two or more years of golf course grounds experience.
- A responsible, honest, and hardworking mindset.
- A willingness to learn.
- Prior golf course experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of the game of golf is a benefit.
