About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in golf operations at a resort featuring three signature courses. You will work under the mentorship of PGA staff to gain insight into resort and private club management. This role is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Execute point of sale and tee time operations, including checking in golfers and selling merchandise.
- Manage outside operations, such as player services and golf cart fleet setup.
- Assist with tournament and outing setup.
- Coordinate with Stay and Play managers regarding guest tee times.
- Support member relations, Simulator Studio setup, and junior golf clinics.
- Assist with inventory control, including accepting new items and conducting end-of-month counts.
- Communicate with starters and player assistants to ensure smooth guest experiences.
- Promote resort events and restaurant offerings to members and the public.
- Provide customer service and resolve issues for resort patrons.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Resort Head Professional.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently enrolled in a college program with at least one year completed.
- Preference for students majoring in Golf Course Management, specifically PGM or GEM programs.
- Basic computer skills, including usage and system troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of the game of golf.
- Ability to stand and walk for shifts up to 10 hours.
- Capacity to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
