About the role#
Nevada Robotics at the Desert Research Institute is hiring four part-time Education Interns for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the chance to support STEM education outreach and workforce development across Northern Nevada. You will work up to 12 hours per week in an environment focused on robotics, drones, and engineering.
What you'll do#
- Earn certifications and become proficient with educational drones and robots.
- Support teacher training workshops for robotics and drone curriculum.
- Assist at robotics and drone competitions.
- Lead STEM activities during community outreach events.
- Maintain the Robot and Drone Lending Library.
- Complete special projects and tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a full-time college student.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams and Outlook) and Google Suite.
- Availability to work Tuesday through Thursday during late afternoons and evenings, plus Saturdays.
- A strong interest in science and innovation education.
- Creativity, curiosity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A desire to provide learning opportunities for students, teachers, and community members.
- Preferred: Studies or a major in education or human development.
- Preferred: Prior experience working in an educational setting as a student worker.

- Location: Reno, Nevada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 12 hours per week.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift 20-60 lbs, stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods. The role also involves desk work and sitting at a computer.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and requires reliable transportation.
