This apprenticeship provides current Denver Public Schools students with the opportunity to gain experience in an educational setting. Apprentices work at district elementary, middle schools, or early childcare learning centers during non-scheduled class times. The role focuses on supporting students in core subject areas—such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies—or in their native languages, under the guidance of teachers and school leaders.
What you'll do#
- Prepare classrooms for lessons, assist with displaying student work, and manage equipment and resources.
- Support supervising teachers by helping students understand instructions and curriculum.
- Set and work toward measurable individual goals, solving problems and escalating issues as needed.
- Contribute to conversations regarding equity and barriers to student success.
- Maintain student records and assist with additional duties as requested.
- Ensure compliance with school policies regarding child protection, health, safety, security, and data confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Denver Public Schools student.
- Must maintain a permanent home address in Colorado.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
- Commitment to racial and educational excellence and a dedication to supporting all students.

- Compensation: $19.29 per hour.
