About the role#
The Livestock Center at Delaware Valley University hires students to help manage our beef, swine, and sheep herds. You will gain hands-on experience by completing daily farm operations. This role requires 15 to 20 hours of work per week, including one or two weekends each month. We offer a flexible schedule to accommodate your classes.
What you'll do#
- Feed livestock twice every day.
- Keep the facility clean and well-maintained.
- Help with herd health, including diagnosing and treating conditions across all three species.
- Operate farm equipment and heavy machinery.
- Handle general maintenance tasks.
- Care for the grounds, including mowing, trimming, and weeding flower beds.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Delaware Valley University.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Some previous experience with farms or animals is helpful, though not required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Comfort working outdoors and in environments with dust, noise, and animal specimens.
