PhD GenAI Research Scientist Intern

About the role#

The Mosaic AI research team is focused on advancing the frontier of domain adaptation for LLMs and AI systems. This internship involves working directly with the research team to develop models and systems that perform effectively within custom enterprise domains. You will address open research problems related to scaling and automating evaluations, fine-tuning with synthetic data, retrieval augmentation, and efficient inference.

What you'll do#

• Adapt, improve, and evaluate existing methods from literature.
• Design new methods for domain adaptation.
• Compose multiple methods to create new recipes for efficient post-training.
• Conduct evaluations of LLMs and AI systems.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
• Research experience in and proficiency with the fundamentals of deep learning.
• Proficient software engineering skills, with experience using PyTorch.
