As a Mechanical Design Intern, you will join the Advanced Engineering team at Dana TM4. This team focuses on maturing new technologies for traction motors and high-voltage electronic products. You will contribute to technology evaluation and demonstration projects, helping to mitigate technical risks and support the transfer of innovations to product development teams.
What you'll do#
- Lead and participate in the design and development of new high-speed motor technologies and traction inverters.
- Model and design parts and assemblies for motor prototypes, electronic products, and proof-of-concept systems.
- Perform tolerance stack-up calculations and produce manufacturing drawings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Electromagnetics, Electronics, and Software Engineering, to solve problems and achieve project objectives.
- Lead or support laboratory and test bench activities, including the supervision of technicians and assemblers when required.
- Participate in design reviews, risk analyses, and failure mode evaluations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of metal and plastic part manufacturing processes.
- Curiosity, resourcefulness, autonomy, and a results-oriented approach.
- Functional proficiency in French and English.

- Location: Boucherville, Quebec, Canada.
- Modality: On-site (37.5 hours per week).
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
