About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by providing a broad overview of store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and soliciting medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed by law.
- Mentor pharmacy team members and provide in-the-moment coaching.
- Perform basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and restocking medication deliveries.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Deliver patient health services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic support.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, and document patient information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks for extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Proficiency in confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems, such as determining medication quantities and supply days.
- Ability to identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.

- Pay range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
