About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing an overview of store, district, and regional operations. You will support the pharmacy team in delivering care while developing your clinical and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at every workstation.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions, soliciting health history, and offering immunizations.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify orders when necessary.
- Complete inventory tasks such as putting away deliveries, managing returns, and performing cycle counts.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to other pharmacy team members.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Travel to other store locations within the market to support business needs as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Physical capability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like reaching, stooping, and scanning.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to solve problems using mathematical reasoning.

- Location: Davenport, Florida.
- This is a part-time, on-site internship.
- The role follows a rolling term.
