About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support the operations of a retail pharmacy. You will assist in delivering patient care, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the pharmacy team. This position is part-time and offers the opportunity to gain professional experience in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while delivering care to patients.
- Perform patient safety activities, quality assurance, and inventory management.
- Follow pharmacy professional practice standards and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Manage workflow excluding final prescription verification.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to help customers and patients.
- Provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
- Lead with empathy and compassion while collaborating with your team.
- Facilitate a culture that promotes energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and reach overhead or stoop as needed.
- Visual acuity for tasks such as reading, transcribing, and viewing computer terminals.
- Finger dexterity for typing and picking items.
- Immunization eligibility and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are preferred.
