About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future career as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe, accurate, and caring service to patients.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Assist with safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide caring service and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and putting away deliveries.
- Support immunizations where permissible, including educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and documenting information.
- Contribute to an inclusive team culture and provide coaching to colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- This is a part-time, paid position.
- The role follows a rolling term structure.
- Work is performed on-site.
