About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between your pharmacy school education and real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap to gain hands-on experience in store and regional operations. This role focuses on preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while ensuring our pharmacy teams deliver consistent, high-quality care to our patients.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy operations by following standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Provide empathetic patient service, including fielding medical questions and offering counseling under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes.
- Assist with inventory tasks such as cycle counts, processing deliveries, and managing returns.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations, once you obtain the required Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients on vaccine importance and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
- Mentor and coach pharmacy team members to share best practices and contribute to a high-performing environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like reaching, stooping, and scanning items.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to solve math problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Ability to pivot between tasks quickly to meet patient and business needs.

- Location: Miami, Florida.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role operates on a rolling basis.
