About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides hands-on experience across store, district, and regional operations while you assist the pharmacy team in delivering patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering immunizations and other health services.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Support immunization services, including preparing and administering vaccines, where permitted by law.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws along with company policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
- At least 1 year of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
