About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This position involves supporting pharmacy teams, gaining operational experience, and ensuring patients receive accurate and timely care.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and putting away deliveries.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and privacy regulations.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Support immunization processes by documenting patient information and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
