About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for a future role as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering empathy and genuine care.
- Field medical questions, offer to counsel patients, and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Seek opportunities to expand your clinical and technical knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.

- Employment Type: Part-time.
- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
