About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring prescription accuracy, and delivering patient care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team with operations across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations.
- Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately while following company SOPs.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions.
- Process telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts and managing returns.
- Maintain high standards for patient privacy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine administration.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members as you gain experience.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or the ability to obtain it.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Preferred: Ability to become immunization certified and work across multiple locations.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
