About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while you support our pharmacy teams in delivering safe and accurate care.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure safe prescription fulfillment.
- Assist pharmacists and technicians in managing and improving patient health.
- Provide empathetic care by fielding medical questions, soliciting medical history, and offering immunizations.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes.
- Mentor pharmacy team members and share best practices.
- Complete basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and returns.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and perform point-of-care testing.
- Complete Technician Immunizer training and maintain required licensure.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks, pivot between responsibilities, and perform accurate math calculations.
- Ability to travel to other stores within the market as needed.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
