About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on helping you prepare for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while supporting our pharmacy teams in delivering quality patient care.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and soliciting medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication changes.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns to stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and reviewing patient information.
- Deliver additional patient health care services as allowed by law and supported by your training.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other locations within the market.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
