About the role#
As a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. You will gain hands-on experience in store, district, and regional operations while supporting the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, solving patient problems, and offering immunizations or other services.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Manage basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and putting away deliveries.
- Educate patients on vaccines, monitor for adverse reactions, and document patient information.
- Travel to other stores within the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain upright for extended periods.
- Capability to reach overhead, stoop, and perform repetitive finger movements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening.
- Ability to solve math problems related to prescription dispensing.

- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
