About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours and prepare for pharmacist licensure. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world practice under the guidance of a preceptor. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months and pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Participate in pharmacy practice and patient care scenarios.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including prescription fulfillment and inventory management.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Offer immunizations and other health services where permitted.
- Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members.
- Build business acumen and develop leadership skills to support pharmacy performance.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification, including passing the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in New Jersey within 120 days of completing internship hours.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
