About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain experience in a retail setting. The program requires you to complete all necessary internship hours within 18 months and obtain your pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe pharmacy environment while delivering care to patients.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling vials.
- Resolve third-party rejections and handle manual claim forms.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and assist with drug orders.
- Provide health care services such as immunizations and testing where permitted by state regulation.
- Counsel patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing staff and identifying opportunities to drive growth.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and manage register transactions.
- Participate in store operational meetings and maintain a clean, organized department.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Texas.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong skills in communication, active listening, time management, and emotional intelligence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to immunize.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
