About the role#
This position is for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal is to prepare you for a full Pharmacist role. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide empathetic service to patients over the phone and in person.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Manage inventory tasks like cycle counts and processing returns.
- Support immunization services, including vaccine administration once you are certified.
- Review and collect patient information to ensure accurate vaccination records.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
