About the role#
This internship provides a structured path for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months and attainment of pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver patient care and adopt management programs to improve health outcomes.
- Process prescriptions, including SIG code translation, labeling, and product selection.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage manual claim forms.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Greet customers, assist with inquiries, and perform register transactions.
- Maintain inventory and ensure the pharmacy remains clean and organized.
- Deliver health services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Identify business opportunities to improve pharmacy performance and growth.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of both the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state of Ohio.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Capability to complete all required training and obtain licensure within established guidelines.
