About the role#
This Co-Op position focuses on the application of thermal and fluid sciences to optimize product performance. You will work across various systems, including internal combustion engines, electric power systems, fuel and air systems, filtration, aftertreatment, and battery and fuel cell technologies. You will use simulation and physical testing to solve complex technical problems and contribute to the development of efficient, competitive products.
What you'll do#
- Analyze products through simulation and physical testing to develop system-level solutions.
- Apply principles of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, filtration, and combustion to assigned tasks.
- Investigate product and technology problems to recommend solutions or optimizations.
- Utilize fundamental physics to understand causal mechanisms and support problem resolution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to advance projects and participate in solving issues for complex systems.
- Use industry and company-specific software tools to model performance and architecture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited U.S. university.
- Majors considered include Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is preferred.
- Ability to commit to a 4-month, 6-month, or 12-month assignment working 40 hours per week.
- Current residency within the continental United States.
- A willingness to learn from colleagues and apply system-thinking to real-world problems.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on customer needs.

- Monthly salary ranges: Bachelor's ($3,900 - $5,000), Master's ($6,000), and PhD ($7,300).
